Viewing Platform

My study started with a small and simple task about building a pavilion on top of a cliff. At first we were asked to create a fictional island on which the pavilion should be build.

The main idea of this pavilion was to create an observation platform to have a nice view over the whole area and landscape. It got three various levels to provide different functions. One platform is used for hiding during bad wetter situations, one as a split-level floor to have a second access to the pavilion and one on the top to enjoy the view. All walls are made of stone bricks which fi t into the landscape, so it would not influence the surrounding too much. The roofs are made of a translucent concrete to let the sun shines through, but also to provide enough shadow as the island is situated in a southern part of the world.
